Do employees of a privately held business have a legal right to view company's financial information?

Do employees of a privately held business have the legal right to view the company's financial statements or summary of finances? or is it the company's option to share or not share information with employees?|||No. They have an obligation to share certain information with the government for taxation etc, but not with the employees.

I think I can give you an example that will explain this.

Imagine you were operating your own business doing whatever. You decide that you need to hire a person to work a few hours a week to help with some minor part of the business so you can make your business grow

Why would you want to tell that person how much money you are making? It really is not their business.|||Completely company option. As a private company, the only people with a legal right to view the books are the owners (and if audited, the IRS).|||It is up to the owners of the company.

Employees have no right or entitlement to look at this information.|||Only if that company is a Limited Company. Otherwise no.
