If I am applying for the FAFSA on JANUARY of 2009, what financial information do i need? ?

I am a dependent student so do i need my parents 2007 or 2008 Financial information. I am a senior graduating class of 2009 just in case.|||Your going to need you and your parents w-2s or financial information for the year of 2008. You will also either need them there with you to help you with their birth info and things of that sort or you will need their birth certificates and s.s. numbers.. It asks about maiden names and birthdates and things of that sort in which these documents may be required..|||you are going to need your parents 2008 tax return also if you work you will need your 2008 tax return. If you don't have one for yours youll just need yoru parents and you'll need them to help you fill in information about theirselves.|||You will eventually have to supply information based on your parent's 2008 tax returns. It would be best if your parents can file their taxes as soon as possible after January 1.

However, if they will be filing after January, DO NOT wait for them to do so!!

You can complete your FAFSA, and CSS Profile if required, as soon as possible after January 1st, using estimated numbers based on your parents 2007 tax return.

IMPORTANT: If you use estimated numbers based on 2007 data, it is VITAL that you make sure to update your FAFSA as soon as your parent's have all of the information for their 2008 tax returns. That is fairly simple to do once you have received your Student Aid Report from FAFSA (it will come via email or letter mail about 10 days after you submit the FAFSA online). But, in the meantime, colleges will start the financial aid process with your estimated data.

Good luck!
